Ms Christine Brais

Religious Education Coordinator

Personal message: My faith has always been a central part of my life and identity. I am grateful to be able to teach in the Catholic system where I feel that we can give students a holistic education and cater not just for educational but also spiritual and emotional needs too.

Statement of areas of responsibility: The Religious Education Coordinator shares responsibility for the development of the Catholic life of the school, leadership of its vision, mission and strategic priorities and contribution to the management of the school. As the Religious Education Coordinator, she has the responsibility for the coordination and supervision of teaching and learning in Religious Education as well as liaising as part of the parish Sacramental team.

Professional experience: Christine started working at All Hallows in 2023. Prior to this, Christine was a teacher and REC at St Paul of the Cross Primary School, Dulwich Hill.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Arts (Griffith University)
  • Master of Teaching (Sydney University)
  • Master of Arts in Theology (Notre Dame University)

Professional interests: I am particularly interested in the place of Religion and Creative Arts in the curriculum. Integrating these within other content strands helps to ground students in their identity as a son or daughter of God, a global citizen, and can help them to engage with their own ability to contribute and create. During my Masters of Teaching I completed a Research Project examining the place of Drama in English, observing the enhancement of students’ comprehension of texts and ability to empathise. I have also taught Music across K-6 and years 7-8 and really enjoy incorporating Music within the Creative Arts and the broader curriculum.
